I just got home from a trip to visit a friend near New Bransfel, TX. Right on a lake. A great get-away place and wonderful to visit with no kids interrupting. (The boys all went camping Friday night.) Jean has a beautiful home and she's working hard to get all her stuff out and as wonderful as I remember her previous home in..... 1994?
It is an amazing limestone post and beam constructed house. Here are the beautiful front doors.
Here you can see some of the posts and beams and pegs that hold it together. You can also see some of her amazing artwork. The hooked rug and quilt. She also loves to do and has several old fashioned cross-stitch samplers around. Her talent is showcased in her home. (Does that quilt look familiar? that's because I have one very similar 'cept mine is not completely finished; you can see it here and here. We paticipated in the same exchange.)
Notice that unique tub? No, it is not sized for an . It is right next to the nook below; a beautiful spot for a lucky grandchild.
Pictures will never do this home justice; it is unique and beautiful and the hostess was so welcoming. I am looking forward to another visit.
