number 3; Armando hat

A friend asked me to teach her how to knit. In fact 2 different women asked me last week; I had to tell them I was just a beginner. Jeffrey asked me, 'How long have you been a beginner, Mom?' My answer had to be ; 'about 45 years'.
So here is my attempt to become an intermediate knitter;
A hat for Carter. I found the pattern here; the Armando hat. But I did 1K 1P ribbing around the bottom instead of the seed stitch ribbing. Variegated yarn hides mistakes well but I still love the way it is so supple and soft just like a knit hat should be.
