Walking is a form of torture

I've been telling myself since July that as soon as the weather was not 98 degrees I would start walking. Meanwhile in September I started swimming, I worked up to 1/2 mile...that felt good, a bit of a twinge of pain but nothing much. Swimming outside is no longer pleasant so I should start walking, right? Saturday was the day. We went to the park since if I walked around the neighborhood it would be too easy to stop when I got tired. So I walked .97 mile; I still gave out and took a small shortcut so I could get to the car sooner.
Oh my. I was so sore Saturday night I could not get to sleep. For some reason the top of my feet get very sore when I walk.  I used 2 walking sticks to walk with so Sunday my arms were sore too. Good grief, this is torture.
So I am lacing up my shoes to do it again.
Quilt Festival is just a few short weeks away....

Great post, I admire the writing style :) A little off topic here but what theme are you using? Looks pretty cool.
