So, I'm planning a new different kitchen...What are some of your favorite things about your kitchen? I've asked several friends and have these responses:
- my island
- the granite counters
- my convection oven
- my double ovens
- the lights under the cabinets
- one said that it is indoors...and has a door to leave it... there is sure to be story behind that response....
What do you hate about your kitchen? I only had 3 things I really disliked about mine;
- The 'narrow neck of land' to get into the kitchen..gone!
- The PLASTIC drawers...gone!
- the oven! almost gone...I've bought a new oven but the old has not been hauled off...

The lights under the cabinets, for sure. The extra heavy-duty drawer pull hardware ... don't know what it's called, but the hardware that the drawers slide out on. I have 2 extra deep drawers for pots and pans and they have extra heavy-duty hardware to handle the heavy load. The cabinet guys will know what that's called. I think I have regular heavy-duty drawer hardware on all the other drawers. My husband and our contractor over-engineered everything!
I like having a narrow cabinet for cookie sheets and cutting boards and lids. I have a metal divider inside to keep everything in it's spot. plus there is a little extra room above for a shelf for my colander
I can think of all kinds of things I don't like about my kitchen, what I like? Functioning plumbing, a dishwasher, stove, oven... but I imagine you will have all those things. Get a fancy faucet above the stove, that'd be awesome for filling big pots with water! Since I am soooo good at plumbing now, we are going to do that. :)
I love where my garbage cans are. They are behind cupboard doors and pull out.(Next to the sink.) I wish I had put in under cabinet lighting.
I forgot something else I like about my kitchen. I love the tile backsplash.
