In my quest to find something EASY and QUICK to finish for my July OPAM I dug this out. 13 red and white stars exchanged during my 'little quilts' faze. (Made about 16 years ago... How do I know? My son turned 15 last week and I made them either right before the pregnancy or during.) I still love them. You can see the other 2 projects are still on the wall---with absolutely no change in the month they have been up.

the alternate block will be off-white/white shirt prints...I think. The square set has the advantage of using every single block.

The diagonal set has the advantage of being rectangular...
So will you tell me which one you prefer? and why?

I like the diagonal but I don't know why. LOL Which ever way you choose it will be great.
I also like the diagonal.
I like the square one. Not because it is square I like the direction of the stars. In the diagonal they remind me of red cross symbols. I also preferthe placement of the light and dark blocks better in the square. Although i do like the rectangle shape better.
I'm like Judy - I like the diagonal set but I don't know why! It just appeals to me.
I prefer the square setting because it sets off that odd colored block. The diagonal is great too but I still prefer the square.
At first I thought the diagonal set. Then I noticed the reason Charlene S had for the square setting and I agree with her.
I still LOVE Little Quilts too!
I like both settings but the diagonal a tad more because it looks like an Ohio Star block-my fave! The rectangular setting also gives it an advantage in my book.
I like the square. Why? To use up as many blocks as possible. :)
I like the shape of the stars better in the straight setting. Those are great looking blocks to play with :)
I like the diagonal one because I like how the stars look in that direction. They twinkle more. . .or something. This is such a timeless color-way. Love red and tan.
