Charity Quilts on my Design floor

Here is one of the charity quilts I worked on last week. And this week. Probably Next week too. A friend has an empty dining room so we laid out the blocks that we had made. I had a stack of 10" squares that had been used as napkins at a women's conference years ago, so we sewed them into 4-patches and cut them 3" on either side of the center seams, rearranged them and got these 17.5" blocks. Nice and easy. Here's a tutorial Sally made calling it the Disappearing 4-patch.
This is the String project we are working on; We worked on it for 2 sessions then a friend, Laurie (not me), took them and is finishing them. We have 1 log cabin top together and enough log cabin blocks for another one. We are really doing well. I LOVE, LOVE the way the red, white and blue is looking. Why did we choose those colors? I have 2 BIG pieces of patriotic fabric that need to be the back of a quilt... Don't have a back for the pastel one yet. Or the black one.

Never fear I am still working on the triangle madness but I needed a break. I still haven't found the border fabric...so there is no reason to finish it quickly, is there?
Judy has a purple quilt on her design wall and a list of others that are participating.

Love that disappearing 4 patch block! I sewed some blocks too but not as pretty as the ones you made!
