When is an apple pie not an apple pie? When you leave the crust out. I made a pink lady apple pie today without the crust. It is very good, but I miss the crust. there was less mess and less calories. Cooking Light did an article with award winning apple pies. I followed one of the recipes but left off the crust--even though their crust looked interesting; it had vinegar in it.
for dinner I 'made' Chicken Florentine. very good but hardly from scratch. The freezer section at the grocery store had a bag of it; including the pasta, chicken, and garlic sauce. I added some chicken left over from Sunday and a bit of shrimp. Next time it could use some mushrooms too. And I think I may even make it from scratch. Allrecipes here I come!
