Happy Valentine's Day

I realize that Valentine's Day is a few days away but I just finished my valentines and I think they are so great I wanted to share. Now if I had my druthers I'd be able to make dozens of these and mail them to each person who reads my blog...Instead I'm showing them to you early so you can make them for your loved ones....
They really are as easy as they look. Materials needed:
  • Card stock for card
  • Bible or other printed paper (initially I was going to use an old magazine)
  • heart punch or paper scissors
  • glue
  • velvet and fabric scissors/glue and glitter
  • sewing machine
  • red thread
The printed hearts were punched out of my 'scrap' bible. (Andrew, as a crawler, found my Bible and I found him 'feasting on the words of Christ'. I soon got a new bible) The Bible paper is so thin I backed each page with a scrap of paper while punching so the paper would cut instead of tearing. The velvet hearts are samples of silk velvet I had. Glue a card stock punched out heart to the back of the velvet, when it is dry cut out close to the paper. Draw a faint red line to sew on top of, position the hearts and sew. One of the hearts is glitter; I glittered some card stock and after it was dry I punched out the heart. (I tried it the other way, punch out, then glitter and I don't think it worked as well.) Fold the hearts out on the stitched line. Write a note inside and mail.

Wow! Thank you! How did you come up with this idea? Did you punch out the word LOVE in your Bible?

I gave up on using significant scriptures; I looked up a few and decided that it took too much time. I did happen to find a page about marriage...'husbands love their wives...' that one is on yours. ;)
