Design Wall...or design quilt frame?

Okay you've seen my Triangle Madness...well now I'm quilting it... And I NEED ideas for that. Can you help?
I've started stitching in the ditch on either side of the 'borders' or frames within each block. Do I change the thread a gazillion times to sew on top of each frame? Or can I just use a neutral.... 'Mother goose,' a taupe,is the color I used for the ditch work.
Should I be consistent; use the same design in each size border? Or alternate the designs or do something different in each?
Here's a close-up of one of the blocks. The outer 2 'frames' are the same size in each block; the center one varies. There are 3 outer borders that show up in this photo of it in the frame:

Check out Judy's blog for more design wall on this stifling HOT Monday. (Is it hot all over the U.S.? I decided a long time ago that July and August are the best days to stay HOME! It is air conditioned everywhere in TX. They haven't figured out how to get the parks cool yet though.)

I'm no help on the quilting ideas but I just have to tell you again how fabulous this quilt is. You do such wonderful quilting that whatever you decide to do will be perfect.

OMG that quilt is FABULOUS! What a LOT of work you put into it!

I probably would have done an edge to edge on this, as I think most of the quilting detail will be lost amidst the glory of those wonderful blocks!

Or maybe because I'm just a lazy quilter :)

I have no idea on the quilting but your quilt is wonderful.

I love this quilt. You're very brave taking on all those half square triangles.

Again, I'm no help on quilting designs, but I think using the Mother Goose thread throughout is a great idea. I use that thread a lot on scrappy quilts as it doesn't overpower any of the fabrics.

Your quilt is gorgeous and I wish I had it. LOL The different block centers really enhances the overall effect of the quilt. Thanks for sharing the quilt with us on DWM.

I would probably do each block differently just to make it more fun!

WOW!!!!! That is gorgeous!!!!!! Definitely use the same neutral thread in the whole thing. I don't think I would do anything more than in the ditch between the borders in each block. There is far too much work in the piecing of that to cover up with quilting. Maybe, though, do something different in the very centre of each block, eg, the four patch.

I am a fan of this quilt too. I love the simple neutral thread on all the frames and a little motif in the center if you are handquilting it all. I like this very much, an heirloom for sure.

Wow! I love this. I have been going to start one myself but have not had time. You did very well with all those triangles!

neutral thread, simple quilting, then it can be sent to my door in Louisiana to live.

I think you can use the same thread throughout and it will show some places and hide in the others. Since there are so many fabrics, I would tend toward a uniform quilting design in the diff borders and blocks to bring it all together. Something simple that won't scream for attention against all the fabric. Good luck with the quilting!
